Yellow-browed Warbler   Phylloscopus inornatus

Scarce passage migrant. Until recently, poor coverage has limited records of this species.

 

·         1988   One, 15th - 19th September.

·         1993   One, North End, 25th September; One, The Daal, 26th September; Two, Ham, 27th & One, Ham, 28th September.

·         1994   One, 18th and 4, 20th September.

·         1995   One, 16th September.

·         1996   One, 16th – 18th September; 3, 20th – 21st with one to the 22nd September; One, North End, 26th - 28th September; One, 27th September – 1st October.

·         1997   Two, 27th September (One to the 29th); Two, 29th September (One to the 2nd October); Two, 7th October (One to the 9th).

·         1998   One, Ham 19th and 20th, with Two there on the 21st September.

·         1999   One Ham, on the 25th & 26th September.

·         2000   Singles, North End 23rd September and Ham P.O. 25th September.

·         2002   The first was seen 23rd – 27th September. The next single arrived on 1st October, and two further singles on 2nd and 3rd.

·         2003   A maximum total of about 20 birds for the year, the first being seen on the 11th September. Singles were seen on occasional dates until the 27th, and then a sudden fall of migrants brought in 10 new birds on the 28th. One of these birds remained until the 4th October, and then there was a couple of singles until an arrival of 3 birds on the 15th. The last sightings were of two, on the 23rd and a single on the 24th.

·         2004   Only two records for the year! 1st – 8th and 12th – 13th October.

·         2005   A total of 7 birds were seen. 6 on the 25th September with one or two of these birds remaining until the 6th October. There was a new arrival on the 14th October.

·         2006   A total of 18 birds, with singles on 10th – 11th and 20th – 27th September, with 2 on 24th – 25th. 15 birds arrived on the 30th September, with 12 remaining the following day.

·         2008   Singles, 23rd, 25th, 30th September and 3rd October.

·         2010   Four, on the 30th September. One, on the 9th and 11th October, two, on the 12th.

·         2011   Two on the 16th September, increasing to 7 on the 18th and then 8 on the 19th, with singles until 29th at least.
