Fairly common passage migrant

Most birds occur on passage between May and September.

The first documented record is of a few birds sighted in late May, 1898 (Evans and Buckley, cited in Pennington et al. 2004)

The earliest spring record was on the 4^th May, 2006 and the latest returning birds were 3 on the 4^th October, 2000.

Most records refer to 1 – 3 birds. The highest numbers recorded in a day, were 8, on the 23^rd September, 2000.
