White-tailed Sea Eagle Haliaeetus albicilla

Formerly a scarce breeding resident; now a rare vagrant with a least 17 records for Shetland since local extinction.

· 1774 Birds were reported to breed on the island by Low (Low, cited in Pennington et al., 2004).

· Late 1800s Birds not reported to be breeding regularly on the island (Furness, 1983).

· 1901 and 1902 Clutches reported as being taken from nests (Furness, 1983).
