Tree Pipit   Anthus trivialis

Fairly common passage migrant

 

Has been recorded April to November, but most occur May and September.

 

The earliest spring arrivals were two birds recorded on 26th April, 1996. The latest observation of autumn passage was on the 5th October, 2000.

 

Daily counts are usually in single figures, however, in some years numbers occasionally peak around 10. On the 23rd September, 2000, there was an exceptional 20 individuals logged.
