Surf Scoter Melanitta perspicillata

Very rare vagrant from North America

· 2003 Male on 15^th – 22^nd October. This bird came within metres of the harbour and allowed exceptional views as it swam around Ham Voe (GA, JMD, TPD, ARM, MAW et al.).
