Scarce passage migrant and uncommon and local winter visitor to
Shetland.
First recorded in October 1895, when a wing was found
on the island (Evans & Buckley, cited in Pennington, et al., 2004). Regular but scarce migrant, mainly in September to November,
particularly around Ham Voe.
