Rose-coloured Starling Sturness roseus

Rare migrant from south-east Europe and south-west Asia

· 1906 An exceptional record of 5 or 6, including a ‘fine adult male’, at the manse, 28^th October (Robertson, in Pennington et al., 2004). Uncertainty about the record, has been expressed, owing to the very late date and numbers involved.

· 1960 Adult female, moribund, 12^th – 13^th August. Was later sent to the NMS.

· 1994 Adult, 3^rd – 5^th August (BW et al).

· 2002 Male on 10^th June (SCV et al.) and a female on 17^th – 20^th July (SCV et al.).

· 2003 One, 11^th – 12^th June (SCV et al.) and another on the 1^st July (DA, GA).
