Robin   Erithacus rubecula

Common passage migrant and scarce winter visitor.

 

Seen in all months, but mainly March to May and September to November.

 

Counts of spring birds are normally lower than in the autumn, peaking in single figures. It is the autumn passage that can see much larger falls of birds, numbers of which usually peak in October.

 

 

There have been a couple of summer records. One on the 25th June, 1963 and 23rd – 25th July, 1969 (Furness, 1983).
