A breeding summer visitor and passage migrant

 

The Ringed Plover breeds in small numbers (ranging between 5 and 20 pairs).

 

In 1960 Jackson had a high autumn count of 62 on the 27th of August, which remains the highest count to date. However, peak counts in April/May and August/September, are not usually in excess of 30.
