Mallard Anas platyrhynchos

Common breeding resident to Shetland, is also a passage migrant and winter visitor.

Regular visitor to Foula, especially to Mill Loch. There are no breeding records on the island

1997 57 during October.

1998 56 on 7^th January.

2003 28 on the 25^th October.
