Lanceolated Warbler   Locustella lanceolata

Rare migrant from Siberia

 

·         1994   One, North Harrier, 19th September (MMck, CT)

·         2000   One, The Brae, Ham, 27th September (JMD, TPD)

·         2005   One, Nurse’s Cottage, Ham, 5th – 6th September. Trapped on the 5th. (ARM, BHT)

·         2006   One, Hametoun, 5th – 9th October (JMD, TPD, KDS, MAW).

·         2007   One, Hametoun, 5th – 8th October (TPD, KDS, NDW, PJW et al.). This bird was first flushed on the 5th and suspected to be a Lanceolated Warbler by the observer. However, observations of the Siberian Rubythroat, which was in the same locality took precedence, as time was limited that afternoon. The bird was located and identified in the same place on the 7th.
