Passage migrant and winter visitor in small numbers

The first record for the island was on the 10^th May, 1954. Occasional observations were made between 11^th August and 26^th November (Jackson, 1966).

Numbers peak in single – early double figures normally in September and October. The following higher counts have been made:

2000 20+ on the 28^th – 29^th September.

2002 25 on the 12^th October.

2004 60+ on the 1^st October and 40 on the 3^rd.
