Scarce passage migrant and winter visitor

· 1893 Single bird noted by Evans and Buckley (cited in Pennington et al. 2004).

· 1955 One, 10^th – 13^th July (Jackson, 1966) was the first mid-summer record for Shetland.

· 1967 One, on the 22^nd Febuary.

· 1974 Adult, on the 26^th August.

· 1976 Six, on the 27^th October.

· 2003 Four birds in total. Two adult birds on the 6^th, one being seen on the 7^th and 8^th. A first winter on the 10^th and a second winter on the 11^th.
