Glaucous Gull Larus hyperboreus

Uncommon winter visitor. A few birds often congregate amongst flocks of Great Black-backed and Herring Gulls in late autumn and winter.

· 1892/93 ‘Dozens’ of birds reported by Frank Traill in the winter of these years (Jackson, 1966).

· 1971 12, 12^th December.

· 1981/’82 One, late December – January.

· 1996 One, 20^th – 29^th October; One, 5^th & 6^th November.

· 1997 Two, 18^th & 23^rd February with One on the 22^nd; One, 5^th March and 15^th – 17^th March; One on the 4^th April; One on the 11^th October. Singles were seen on the 1^st, 3^rd and 15^th, with Two on the 13^th and 14^th and 3 on the 8^th November.

· 2004 There was a 1^st Winter bird on the 7^th November.
