Canada Goose Branta canadensis

Scarce migrant to Shetland. Most arrivals in June.

· 1973 One on 28^th – 30^th June.

· 1975 One on 27^th July.

· 1981/82 5, from December to early January, 4 of which were later seen On Papa Stour and Voe, and one ringed bird was later seen on Yell from the 2^nd July 1982 into 1983 and then Unst from April to August 1984.

· 1982 Family of 5 on 8^th January.

· 1997 One on 16^th June.

· 2003 One on 1^st – 9^th April.

· 2004 One on 17^th – 27^th May, was joined by another on 20^th – 29^th. This 2^nd bird showed characteristics of one of the smaller races (GA, SCV).
