Scarce, irruptive passage migrant and rare winter visitor

· 1968 – 1982 10 records over these years.

· 1980 One, found dead, mid-September.

· 1996 One, 26^th October; 3, on the 27^th; Two, on the 5^th November.

· 1997 3, 6^th November.

· 2001 One on 26^th October.

· 2004 The first of many in this erruptive year for northern race of the species was seen on 11^th – 13^th October. This was followed by 2 males on 14^th and 15^th. There were 8 on the 16^th and 20 on the 17^th and 6 on the 18^th. 10 on the 21^st and 22^nd. On the 32^rd there were 30 which increased to an impressive 70 on the 24^th. All but 15 had left the following day. Numbers decreased to singles into November, then 4 on the 4^th and the last record of 6 on the 6^th.
